Never Giving Up On You and Remember the Simple Things (Songs included)

Never Giving Up YOU, or Me, or Us…and a turn around too.

Music with a message is a gift to give to yourself today (or someone you care about or know needs a helping hand). “We have all been there before” is true. Feeling alone. Feeling unheard, not a part of anything, sad, maybe even feeling no one who seems to understand. But the truth is, people do understand; people can hear you, and we need to find them. And guess what? If no one else is available, we are here now. We can hear ourselves. Music can express our thoughts and feelings; we can cry, write, go for a walk, or be with ourselves. Sometimes, we need that time more than anything else. We get busy and forget to make visits with ourselves.

But…hear this song. Sing it to yourself in the mirror. Not giving up on YOU. Be a friend to you today. Like a close friend once said, “I think I need to have an affair with myself.” She was trying to say she needed to start spending special, quality time with herself to really get to know herself, and even if she had to do this secretly as one does with an affair, so be it. She needed to be with herself. She had heard the words, “Do not give up on yourself,” and this was her way of working that out in her life. It worked for her too.

Remember: When no one is there, you are there.

When no one else hears, you hear. Stop and Listen.

Then, if you are still feeling sad, it is okay. If you want or need a smile,  go to the song after this one at the bottom of this page and see how Simple Things can help us change our views. What we think matters, listen to Amy Grant share her song, Not Giving Up….

Not Giving Up

Amy Grant

If you think you’re gonna fail
Well, you’re probably gonna fail
So tell me, what was all the dreaming for?
And if you think you’re gonna lose
Well, you’re probably gonna lose
So what’s the point in trying anymore?

What you’re looking for, you’ll find
It happens every time

I’m not giving up,
Not giving up on you
You can say you’ve had enough
But I won’t stop calling,
I’m not giving up,
Not giving up on you
Not giving up on you

When your fragile heart is breaking
And your confidence is shaken
I can tell you that we’ve all been there before
The first step is hard to take
But it’s a choice you gotta make
When life is waiting through that open door

I wish that you could see
The way you look to me

I’m not giving up,
Not giving up on you
You can say you’ve had enough
But I won’t stop calling,
I’m not giving up,
Not giving up on you
Not giving up on you

Oh, not so long ago,
You pulled me through

So I’m not giving up,
Not giving up on you
Even if the rain comes down
And your sky is falling
I’m not giving up,
Not giving up on you
You can say you’ve had enough
But I won’t stop calling,
I’m not giving up,
Not giving up on you
You know we can work this out
If we just keep talking
I’m not giving up,
Not giving up on you
Not giving up on you

Cause is you think you have a chance
Then you really have a chance
I hope you know that I believe in you

Please….Be gentle with yourself. Be kinder to yourself than you want others to be too. Often things take time to change, to wake up inside of ourselves, and for us to see, understand, accept, and know the truths, But, we do not have to wait for joy while we wait for all the solutions and answers. In fact, sometimes, we find what we are looking for while we are not really looking at all.

Now, take a deep breath, and get ready to get up, move, and sing along, soft or loud, but sing.

Simple Things

Amy Grant

Wake up baby, look around
Birds sing, ooh, that sound
Reminds me of a line
From Unchained Melody

Feel like I’m a little girl
Best thing in the whole wide world
Is I can see the makings of
A memory

I remember how it used to be
Well, I’m still dreaming

‘Cuz I dream of simple things I can believe in
Like the feeling this day brings
So true love and the miracle of forgiving
I believe in simple things

Ain’t nothing like a sunny day
Chit-chat at a street cafe
Just paint the picture, baby
Where you wanna be

Take a walk, take a ride
So far, you and I
Don’t need a plan but we can

I remember how I used to want it all
Funny now the big things seem so small

I dream of simple things I can believe in
Like the feeling this day brings
True love and the miracle of forgiving
I believe in simple things

Through all the days
The blues, the grays
A ray of light keeps shining

I believe in simple things
Through all the days
The blues, the grays
A ray of light was shining

I dream of simple things I can believe in
Like the feeling this day brings
True love and the miracle of forgiving
I believe in simple things
I dream of simple things I can believe in
I believe in simple things

I dream of simple things I can believe in
Like the feeling this day brings
True love and the miracle of forgiving
I believe in simple things
