Home Life: Where it all Begins

Some need more guidance and support than others do, but all children grow, develop and mature in their own time, in their own ways. Every child is a beautiful Spirit.

As you begin your journey with The 5 Needs, keep in mind, if you change this one question, you will begin to see a positive shift in how you think, see and feel. Rather than, “What is wrong with you?” instead ask, “What do you need?”

The child will not likely be able to express the answer, but their behaviors will likely give you many clues. The change in your perspective can make a difference in how you feel, what you think and do. It is a subtle shift, which can have a powerful impact on our attitudes and responses.

We can also ask ourselves: “What do I really need?” instead of. “What is wrong with me?”

Remember, moms have needs too! Often, we forget, or overlook, what we need. If we continually ignore our own needs, this can result in unexpected, unwanted consequences. We may have unmet needs from our past that require some attention too. You can find what you need to help yourself and this will in turn help your children.

We hurt and they hurt. We struggle and they struggle. We can change.

They will likely change too.

Life is beautiful in giving us so many opportunities to grow, learn and do it over again. There is always hope. You are not alone. There is help out there and you will find it as you seek. Go for it! You and your children are worth the effort.

Simple, maybe. Not always easy.

We need to find healthy ways to meet each of The 5 Needs in our personal lives and teach our children too. Explore this site to learn more about The 5 Needs, and see how you can bring it to your family.

I suggest you get a copy of the MOM’s HAVE NEEDS workbook and work through it alone, with a friend or with a group. It is worth your time.

Stay Open and Curious.

Stay aware and alert.

ENJOY the journey with your family.
