Below you will find the names and short descriptions of the workbooks that we offer and use in our workshops and training.
The workbooks do not have ages due the many differences in abilities; instead there are categories for each workbook. All the workbooks are based on the 5 basic needs, and approached from that age group's distinct need. When a family works through the workbooks together, they will be able to communicate about each need at the various levels in the family.
We all have the same 5 basic needs in life; the needs do not change but how we meet the needs changes with time.
Leader’s Guide
My Needs: Little Ones Have Needs Too

This book is an interactive book for adults to use with preschool children. The book explains the needs we all have in ways pre-school children can understand. What makes this book unique is that the adult can color the book and the child will have a picture to color also. Talking about the needs in daily life, with young children, can help communication and help build a foundation for a healthier life. Coloring together is a good exercise, plus the adult and child can discuss the need and pick the colors used thus personalizing the book. One set of blank pictures comes with the book.

Kids Have Needs
This book is designed for children in early elementary grades to gain an understanding of how to identify their needs and how to meet them in appropriate ways. There are easy to read words, places to color or write answers, and the workbook will be their very own book about the child when it is completed. Children can practice reading, writing and coloring in a fun way that will also allow them to learn some basic information which can help them build their life. Children feel proud of “their book” when they are completed and they often share it with others with a proud smile off accomplishment.

We All Have Needs
This book is written for the older elementary children. The book can be used in small groups or individually. Children learn what they need and how to get that need met without any difficulty. Often this age child will ask the leader to “please teach this to my Mom” and hopes to learn to communicate what is discovered. Bullying can be stopped faster when children understand the need for power, and how to effectively meet that need. Children in this age group often “get it” with delight and practice using the language of the 5 needs in class and on the playground.

People of All Ages Have Needs
This book is written for both the pre-teen and the teen. The book was successfully used for a job training program as well as in a summer alternative program for rising 9th graders. Helping teens to understand what it is they need in life can often help their self-esteem and ability to meet the specific needs we have in life. When teens identify their needs, it is like a light bulb goes off and they realize they are more alike then different. This information can ease the load of being a teen by normalizing life and needs. This understanding can save a lot of pain in their lives. Often teens will create projects and enjoy using the basic skills which are otherwise rejected or fought against, such as writing, researching, and talking in public. They may even create a CD with songs that are about the 5 needs in life.

Moms Have Needs
This book addresses the mothers, makers of men and women; we have to meet our own needs in order to help others meet their needs. Often women feel their needs do not matter, but they do. Learning to heal from any past damage and learning to identify the needs we all have will have a positive impact on the family. Mother’s are the first teachers a child has, how wonderful to begin using the language of the 5 basic needs in life, from early childhood on. Anytime a mother can learn the information about the 5 basic needs we all have in life, and as she begins to teach it, live it; the children (any age) and the family as a whole can greatly benefit with better communication increasing self-esteem and even allow for more fun.
