What about the content area that is not published in our everyday school books? How do we empower our students to take the content material learned and use it to help them become a successful person who can be productive in our society? ... Issues such as this one can be address in a workbook called "People of All Ages Have Needs" ... It is the first step of empowering the teen to move forward in their lives and use what they have learned to better themselves and the community where they live. I feel that this workbook, "People of All Ages Have Needs" will provide students with a safe avenue in which to express their feelings and emotions and move on with a more positive outlook on their self worth.

Wendy's style of writing pulls you in; she makes you understand needs from the very simplest level and challenges you to become the best person you can be by stretching to fulfill your own needs. I highly recommend The 5 Needs for use in counseling; in small or large group settings, with families, in classroom, at summer camps, in Sunday school classes, or seminars.

I have witnessed children being able to discuss poverty that they or others have dealt with, the loss of family, the restrictions thy have, and sometimes the basic need of survival. Through this powerful yet simple work book, children and adolescents are able to discuss their needs in life in a safe and secure environment.

The 5 Needs in Life program was an integral part of a pilot attendance project we introduces in the elementary schools, implemented in part, to foster better communication between parents, students and school personnel... I highly recommend this program to anyone working with an at-risk population!

This program (People of All Ages Have Needs and Kids Have Needs) was piloted at H. M. Pearson Elementary School during the 2004 - 2006 school years and proved to be quite successful... the feedback we have received from students in our 8th grade program has been encouraging; their end-of-year reflections demonstrated not only an understanding of the five human needs but also a resolve to apply the principles to their new high school journey. (The group used the People of All Ages Have Needs)

The Needs of Life activity required students to read for information, comprehend and assimilate that information and write about what they learned... My students genuinely enjoyed the Needs of Life project and I believe they learned a great deal from it. I wholeheartedly endorse this program.

I was thinking as a read the Kid’s Have Needs workbook- I wish I had had a book like this when I was a kid - a workbook which would have made me aware of my needs. I'd been raised to think I shouldn't have any. Over time I came to believe it. I could have saved myself a couple of years of therapy, had I known differently - that it was right to acknowledge my needs and see to it that they were met.

The Kids Have Needs program uses multiple interactive strategies to help students recognize their needs and identify the choices available to them to meet their needs. The group setting facilitates an opportunity for students to learn from each other while developing positive peer relationships.
